Craziest Dinner experience EVER!

Last week my husband and I decided to take the girls out to dinner at one of our favorite local Mexican places. We were pumped as we don't really go out to eat that much anymore and their food is like seriously the best. We were seated right away and we noticed that there was a large party sitting right next to us- probably about 18 people. They all had kids with them and the little girls were all dressed up in their Christmas dresses. Upon hearing their conversation I concluded it was the oldest woman sitting at the tables birthday and the people around the two tables were her kids and grandchildren.

We ordered our food and about 10 minutes later it came out and we started to eat---AND THAT WAS WHEN THE SHIT HIT THE FAN> The man at the table next to us called the server over and was like, "Those people were here after us and they already have our food... where is our food? We've been here over an hour and we told you to bring out the food as it was finished." The server apologized and told him that since he had such a huge party it was taking a little longer to get out the food for them. (I think at this point that they had all been drinking margaritas for about an hour and many of them were toasted... even the mom's holding little babies- disgusting in my opinion.) The server went back to the kitchen and immediately started to bring out their food. He sat down one of the little boys' burgers and the same man screams at the server- "Are you kidding me man? That's shredded cheese on his burger- go back to the kitchen and bring him back a burger with sliced cheese- that's not even real cheese." Okay so last time I checked SLICED cheese indicated American cheese and technically THAT is not cheese.....but whatever---Chris and I began to chuckle to each other thinking how rediculous this man was behaving.

The rest of the food starts coming out to these people and OMG.... they started going crazy like an Italian MOB!!! They all started screaming how their food was cold and not what they ordered and going on and on and on... but here's the clincher... they were SO rude about it. They weren't even being remotely respectful to this poor server who was trying to explain to them that it WAS what they ordered and that their good was not cold- it was simply the sour cream on top that was cold...It was beginning to get uncomfortable in the room since now all of the tables were watching this scene and thinking that if we had all wanted to go to a Long Island circus we certainly could have done so. The server started to bring back all of the food and return it shortly thereafter with plates so hot that he was using pot holders on his hands and arms and THEN they started saying that the food was rubbery. Then this big GUMBA stands up and screams at the server----"You are incompetent... send me the manager.' A nicely dressed man walks over and simply listens to this man tell him that they "come in here all the time and never have problems...We have been sitting here an hour and then the food comes out cold and tasting like shit!" The manager was SO good.... he just listened to the man and told him quickly that he wouldn't charge them for anything but their drinks... and then it was like I was in a nightmare. The man stands up- picks up his GLASS of whatever he's drinking and chucks it at the server who is standing next to the manager. I sort of half stood up because my daughter was sitting on the end of the table and I was afraid the glass was going to hit her in the head or something.

At that point the manager politely told the man that he just wanted the group to leave and that they didn't have to pay for anything. They quickly started to then PACKAGE up all of their food to take home and leave- but not before screaming like maniacs and interrupting the whole restaurants dinner- as they were leaving, that same crazy guy goes into the kitchen and starts screaming at the server about how he "Want your name.... spell it for me... I'm going to sue your ass." And the server says, "What are you going to sue me for? Bringing you out food?"

When the trash finally left the restaurant the manager came over to our table and profusely apologized. He said that particular family has come into the restaurant 3 separate occasions and always caused a huge scene. He said they keep trying to not allow them in at all, but they always send a new person that they don't recognize to get the table and then they all kind of walk in after they have been seated to get past the manager.

I think the saddest thing about this situation was that sitting at that table were children watching everything their white trash parents were doing and saying---Showing their children that their behavior was acceptable and OKAY. It was not okay... it was disgusting. Luckily my Lily was oblivious because I would not have been nice in explaining to her that those people were moron white trash who thought they could behave like animals.

Believe me..... AT LEAST IT WASN'T YOU....

Amanda
